Cazadores de megafauna y su interacción con el cuaternario nacional
en el Museo de Ciencias
Caracas, mayo (Prensa Cultura) Explorar en el universo ancestral , en los vertebrados fósiles, los mega mamíferos y su relación con los primeros pobladores del norte de Suramérica será posible en el conversatorio Cazadores de megafauna y rastros de un paisaje desaparecido que ofrecerá el reconocido paleontólogo y naturista venezolano Jorge Carrillo Briceño, en el Museo de Ciencias, el próximo miércoles 14 de mayo a las 10:00 am.

En este espacio, Carrillo Briceño quien cuenta con un doctorado y una profusa formación en Paleontología y Evolución en la Universidad de Zurich, Suiza, hará énfasis en esa interacción entre la megafauna y los cazadores, a través, del hallazgo de cráneos de cachicamos gigantes (gliptodontes) donde se evidencian fracturas ocasionadas por armas rudimentarias de gran impacto (tipo hachas/mazos) y en la localización de herramientas prehistóricas que fueron elaboradas con restos de márfil de mastodontes.

Ambos descubrimientos han sido producto del incansable trabajo de un equipo multidisciplinario que incluye paleontólogos y arqueólogos de diferentes instituciones como el Museo Paleontológico de Urumaco, en Falcón ;el departamento de antropología del Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas, IVIC; y universidades de otros países como la Universidad de Plata, Argentina, entre otras.
Es imperdible esta cita con nuestras huellas, donde poseemos en el territorio más de 30 yacimientos fósiles solo del cuaternario y el número de especies de megafauna supera las 14.
Así lo explicó al extender la invitación a la charla Edwin Chávez, biólogo, registrador del Sistema Nacional de Museos y gerente general de la Unidad de Formación Ambiental de la Fundación Nacional de Parques Zoológicos y Acuarios.

Cabe destacar que esta charla se ofreció el pasado 7 de mayo en el Balcón de los Arcaya, Coro, Falcón.

In June 2021, ICOM-Venezuela, to culminate the celebration of the 40 years of its foundation, always committed to the training of its members and the updating of museum workers, this national body plans to hold the First Museological Training Day . On cultural policies and museum management. Edition 40 years of ICOM-Venezuela. In June 2021, prominent personalities linked to the various areas of the Venezuelan museum will participate, with the participation of specialists from Latin America and the Caribbean. Professors, ICOM members, students, museum managers, professionals, workers and the public interested in this topic will be able to participate in this relevant event.
It is an experience of meetings, reflections, socialization of knowledge, good practices, workshops, work tables, exhibitions, presentations and exchanges. There will be three days of sessions to promote and make contributions to the work in Venezuela carried out by museums, their workers and their managers in the Latin American regional context and the greater Caribbean.

The topic will focus on the impacts on the museological action of ICOM International. It is about reflecting on ICOM's current challenges based on local, national and international reflections, its links with institutions, its members, students and teachers and those training spaces that promote cultural policies and the management of our museums.
